The CooP-Africa team consists of our ambassador Frank van Rijn, a Supervisory Board, Executive Board, volunteers and supporters in the CooP-Africa Club, and last but not least, our African partner organisations.

Frank van Rijn

Frank van Rijn is the ambassador of CooP-Africa, Cycling out of Poverty. Frank is a global cyclist and writer. He spends a large part of his live on his bicycle. What once started as a hobby became a way of life. He writes about his adventures in the farthest corners of the world in his books and talks about it in his famous presentations.

Board and staff

The Supervisory Board is the body that supervises the Executive Board. The general management is in the hands of the Executive Board. The Executive Boards is accountable for its actions to the Supervisory Board. Members of the Supervisory Board:
• Gerard van der Sterre, chair person
• Corry Leenders, secretary
• Clemens Nijhuis, treasurer
• Christel Hoogland

The Executive Board consists of the director of CooP-Africa, Cycling out of Poverty; Luuk Eickmans.

Marieke de Wild is Programme Manager, Jansje van Middendorp is Executive Officer Netherlands and Ineke Leenders is Financial Officer.

COOP Club

The Club of “Friends of Cycling out of Poverty” consists of a group of people who want to be kept informed about the Cycling out of Poverty activities. The club members are receiving the digital news letter of Cycling out of Poverty. Furthermore, the aim is to organise an annual meeting where the members of the club can give input to the board of Cycling out of Poverty. African partners

Cycling out of Poverty works with African partner organisations. Our African partner organisations assess the local need, execute the projects, assess the impact of the projects, safeguard the sustainability of the projects, etc. Our African partner organisations are:
