Our local partner organisations are running a programme in which they discuss and define the needs of rural communities. The local partner organisations support the communities to make a work plan with activities and prioritise the activities themselves. From that point, the local partner organisations look at what support they can provide (for instance training on entrepreneurship and bicycle issues they can provide) and what other parties they can approach to contribute in the process. In collaboration with SACCOs (Savings and Credits Co-operatives) bicycles are given out on credit to rural families. The bicycles will help to economical empower the communities.
• Target group: farmers, traders and small entrepreneurs
• Period: Since 2012
• Supported by: private donors
• Local partner organisation: among others BSPW and ORUDE (Organisation for Rural Development)
